德国商业银行（Commerzbank）在周二（12月12日）发布的报告中表示，投资者目前似乎无视黄金，但黄金近几年的表现与去年12月份下滑时一样，只是在新的一年上涨。周一现货黄金下跌至五个月的低点，略高于1240美元/盎司。
德国商业银行表示：“投资者似乎现在不需要避险，这也反映在股市仍在上涨以及VIX指数低于10的情况下。也就是说，目前黄金的交易模式几乎与近几年一样。自2011年以来，价格往往大幅下滑，到年底为止。唯一的例外是2014年。在美联储12月份会议前后，金价或者是年度低点，或者是周期性低点。之后，这一趋势明显恢复，直到下一年的上半年。目前的情形也可能与此次相似。”
该银行表示，最近几个月黄金疲软“没有明显的原因”，特别是由于印度和中国等国家的实物需求，这往往是一个季节性强的时期。
